Calculation and selection of glass insulator for transmission line

To calculate the quantity of glass insulator in transmission line, we have to consider bellow content:
- Standard of creepage distance d:
d=16mm/kV for normal environment
d=20mm/kV for low polution environment
d=25mm/kV for polution environment
d=31mm/kV for high polution environment or near the sea up to 5km.
- Rated voltage (Udm, kV): 22kV, 35kV, 110kV, 220kV, 500kV
- Creepage distance of insulator disk (D, mm): this data shall be checked from insulator manufacturer's catalogue.
Then the quantity of glass insulator in each string is calculated by n=d*Umax/D
